I have a question about the wedding. The brother of my fiancé got a license so he can marry us when I arrive there. Is this going to be a problem (valid)or should the wedding be performed by a judge or a priest? We are both not religious so we thought either a court house or a beautiful ceremony at his garden. ( courthouse wasn't my first option though )

Check out your State and/or local municipality laws to determine the requirements and validity of your proposed marriage plans.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

as long as the wedding you are planning is legal (check with your state), you are fine.

Thank you. It's Washington Seattle.,I think it's ok , it says on the website that it is legal if an authorized person performs the ceremony. I'm still kind of worrying though. Hm.

"

The person who performs the marriage ceremony (officiant) will retain this copy for their records.

The Marriage License provides notice to the officiant that he/she is authorized to perform the marriage ceremony of the parties named on the license only between (and including) the dates specified on the license.

The officiant can be any justice or judge of Washington State supreme court, court of appeals, courts of limited jurisdiction, or superior court commissioners, or any regularly licensed or ordained minister or priest of any church or religious denomination.

A & B should know he did his there.

The Washington State Law RCW 26.04.050 outlines who can perform marriages:

The following named officers and persons, active or retired, are hereby authorized to solemnize marriages, to wit: justices of the supreme court, judges of the court of appeals, judges of the superior courts, superior court commissioners, judges of courts of limited jurisdiction as defined in
, and any regularly licensed or ordained minister or any priest of any church or religious denomination RCW 26.04.050 "...does not authorize the solemnization of marriages by
pro tempore
judges who by the nature of their appointments serve in a temporary capacity only." (See
.)

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Hi, here are the sites that we found very informative:

http://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/marriage/GettingMarried.aspx

http://www.cityofseattle.net/courts/judmag/marriage.htm

We had a nice ceremony at the downtown Seattle Justice Center, performed by a Seattle Municipal Court Judge.

Happy trails on your immigration journey.

Oh thank you! A silly question I must ask though. Is it nice and formal? Can it fit 10 people?

It can be as nice and formal as you want. I wore a tux, my wife wore a traditional Chinese wedding dress.

Check out the second link I previously provided, in there they state that they try to limit the wedding party to eight people.
