Um..news to me!

Where she lives has no bearing on YOU getting the visa. YOU apply for the visa in Morocco. Which by the way is an exceptionally difficult consulate

good luck

You apply in Morocco, not in the state your wife lives in. The state has no bearing on whether or not you get a visa, the consulate in Casablanca does, which happens to be one of the most difficult embassies to go through because of the high rate of fraud. Be prepared for an uphill battle in Morocco.

It would be good if you have your wife come here and learn more about the process and exactly what you two will be facing with Casablanca. "Hard" does not adequately difficult embassy that you will be interviewing at. She and you will need thorough research to address any potential issues right from the beginning.

This is just my advice having now watched and read so many sad and difficult stories relating to the embassy.

It does not matter what state she lives in. I have several friends who live in California and their moroccan spouse was approved and here. What matters is that you are going to have to interview in Casablanca and it is not easy to get approved. Be prepared to show you have a strong relationship and ready to answer lots of questions about your finace and her family. If you have red flags such as large age difference and short getting to know you period be ready to justify it. They are not easy on K1 applicants there. Best of luck!!

K-1 visas are very difficult in Casablanca and has nothing to do with where your fiance lives in the U.S. I know first hand about having a denial and you need to pretty much have no issues whatsoever, age gap , longevity is important, and your english needs to be good because they are going to rapid fire anything under the sun at you....they will ask things about your fiance , even your fiance doesn't know !! Again every case is different, but better to be prepared than blindsided like we were. One word to the wise and I'm sure its just a grammatical thing, but you might not want to say I "know" an american woman and we will get married soon, doesn't sound so romantic and I'm sure the consular will leap on that lol :)

I don't think it matters at all what state your fiance lives in. I'm just starting the process myself so I am certainly no expert. And I don't think anyone was trying to pry into your relationship. I think they are just trying to say be careful how you word things when you have your interview. I'm in the learning stages too just like you are. And I listen very closely to things people say on here. Most have been through this and have learned the hard way what works and does not work in Casablanca. So I pay very close attention to all advice given on this board. I wish you the very best of luck!

Look let me say it this way, the consulate is going to want to see that you have a good relationship and to refer to her as an american woman and not your fiance is what we are talking about. Casablanca is very tough on fiance visa applicants and they will look for any slip up of your words to deny you. So what we are saying is get into the habit to call her what she is which is your fiance. We all know she is american because that is what this forum is for "immigration to America" So please understand that we are only trying to help you because the consulate will not.

Here is how I would have worded it...Hello everybody I have met a girl and we are in love. I would like to marry her and I am looking for information. She lives in California and I am worried that this will be difficult because I heard that the state that she is from does not give a lot of visas. Any advise would be helpful and thank you.

I understand that english is not your first language so please try to understand we are only trying to assist you.

Thank you and best of luck!

And we answered his question...it does not matter what state the USC lives in. The Visa is given by eligibility not location.
