I went to Seoul for my fiance's visa interview and to spend several days with him. We got all the application stuff together and he went to the interview. He told them I was there and they had him come back for a re-interview with me. I think if I had not been in Korea the CO would have refused the visa on the first interview. She thought because he has four children and is not steadily employed he must only be seeking a green card marriage. After the second interview in which we were insisting that we love each other and intend a real marriage (she asked me why I wanted a Korean man, he was asked why he didn't marry a Korean American woman), at the end she said she would "take what you guys are saying to me at face value" which I guess means she will approve. But she needs more paperwork from him regarding something on his police report. So now he is doing that - means getting another translation too. I am back in the US now and I'm really nervous. I hope he can get the paperwork in there before she changes her mind. Now it's the weekend so nothing can be done for a few days. I was so hoping to have this all settled before coming back here. It is really really hard. I expected him to be questioned about this but not that much.

thanks that's what I'm praying for. CO did say she thought he was sincere and she believed what we were saying. It just seems Korean women get through the interview a lot easier.

Just like Nigerian women ... seems their interviews are alot easier than those of Nigerian men. I know of a person whose fiance got her interview in less than 2 weeks and another who got their visa in 15 mins!

I wish the best for the two of you :)

thank you....Monday he should be able to bring the additional paperwork to the embassy...I am also faxing a letter to the CO talking about and elaborating on what we discussed in the interview - I felt like she had 15 minutes to decide our fate.

Thanks....I couldn't really afford the trip or the time off from work - but I also couldn't afford not to go - really think visa might have been denied outright if I had not been there. And also he had not filled out the forms quite correctly so I fixed it for him. Besides it was great to see him again....because of distance and expense time together has been limited.
