UK Medical question

Hi,

I'm not sure how to post to a question to the UK Portal page so thought I'd try posting here.

I had a look at the vaccination requirements for the UK London medical and the only one it looks like I would need is the flu shot. Is this something that can be done in London at the medical or should I try and get it at my own Doctors beforehand?

Any info on UK medical examination would be appreciated,

thanks

If you are certain you need it I would go ahead and get it at your own doctor before hand if your National Healthcare will pay for it. Even if it's out of pocket it would probably be less expensive than getting it at the USCIS approved doctor. That's just my 2 cents worth.

Agreed! If you do this, be sure to obtain proof & take with you to the medical.

Thanks,

I've already obtained my medical records so I'm not sure what evidence I could take, unless I pay them again for an updated copy of my records. maybe my prescription? I'm assuming I'll have to pay for it since I'm not in the group that would get it for free. I don't even have my interview date yet but I think I should have it by January so just trying to get as organised as possible.

Thanks for your help

If anyone else has any advice/experience of the medical let me know :)

Your doctor's office should be able to provide you with a print out of all your vaccinations. I would think that when you go to get your flu shot, since you'd be paying for that, they would simply give you the printout at no charge. Paul's physician did. But I guess each doctor has their own practices? Couldn't hurt to ask them.

I had to fill out a form to have my records released to me. My doctors surgery seemed suspicious of me wanting them for some unknown reason-they are MY records!

I'm not sure how you would go about getting them if you're not in the country. When I explained I needed them for an american visa I was told I couldn't take them out the country!? Seems crazy to me, but that might have just been my surgery. Plus, once I have them in my hands and have paid for them (there is a fee attached-of course) I could take them anywhere I want.

The whole thing seemed strange to me. Sorry I haven't been much help. Maybe if you call them they would be able to post them out to you, but I'm not too sure.

Good luck
