OMGOMGOMG - APPROOOVED!!!!!!!

Just got the following email:

On January 25, 2013, your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was approved. You will be notified of the decision by mail. Please check our website at uscis for further updates on your case, including when the approval notice is mailed. If you do not receive the approval notice within 30 days, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Visiting the hubby (USC) for the first time right now - couldn't have been any better timiing!!!! Wishing my fellow December filers similar luck.

Thanks guys :)

Also want to add that if it is true and they are all being sent to local offices, ours would be Boise, Idaho. Which I imagine isn't a very busy office compared to some other parts of the country.

If you filed from abroad they would have adjudicated the file at NBC since the local office doesn't apply to you :)

So happy for the approvals!!

And a bit jealous - but it does soften the blow that they were filed abroad so i can feel like they were in a different "pile" to be processed and not get my hopes up.

My husband thinks I check the timeline here once a day ... but i must check that thing at least a dozen times a day!

And do we know that all .... or most .... or some of the 130's are getting sent to local offices?

why is that???

Because you didn't file from abroad and your case is unlikely to be approved quickly like that.

Not all I130s are being sent to local offices; are some or most? Dunno, it's kind of random :(

Some days I am able to be so much calmer and more patient than other days. I think today is going to be one of those "impatient" days.

But watching the timeline updates and seeing plenty of approvals is making me feel good. And my predicted dates here havent moved in a little while (and I am ok with that).

In another thread someone linked to a USCIS site that stated that all "stand-alone" 130s were being sent out to local offices to be adjudicated there. But that doesnt seem to be what is happening. *And* if some or all of the 130s are being sent out to local offices, then trying to predict how long it will take for a decision just became much much harder.

My case was transferred on 1/3.

How many days is that?

I think a bit under 56 days.

So, wouldn't necessarily hurt to call and see if you've been transferred to a local office.

Just for peace of mind.

Though, knowing now doesn't really give me any change in feeling.

Meh. /shrug
