Someone please help me!!! I submitted an i130 in August I been with my husband for almost 12 years, we got married in 2009, we have 2 kids. When we submitted the i130 we submitted a copy of our marriage license well I got a letter today in the mail requesting more proof like bills under our names, birth certificates of the kids, bank statements, pictures etc... They said in order for them to process our application we need to submit that information. Why are they asking for this!.??? I thought they ask for these stuff once we go to Mexico for the interview?? I'm freaking out please give me some advise. If this bad? Are they going to delay the case more? Thank you everyone!

Sorry to hear this happen to u. But I think you should send some proofs to the USCIS like pictures of you together especially during your wedding day and others. It should be send along with your application form. Its one of the requirements aside from the proof you will bring to the interview. Good thing they only send you RFE... there were some cases that they were denied because they didn't submit any proof and have to do the process all over again. So send them what they asked. And I hope you will have a smooth and fast process after you response for the RFE. Good luck and GOD bless!!! :) :)

Why are they asking for this!

Because it's in the instructions.

Here's my interpretation:

Thank you for your response!! I'm confused was I supposed to send all this proof when I first initially submitted the I130?? Do they always ask for more evidence as there processing the I130??

Yes, you were supposed to submit it all when you submitted the I-130 and then you WOULDN'T have been asked for more evidence (as long as you provided enough).

Not always. No worries. Submit what you have and get on with life. The good news is that once you submit the evidence you can expect them to approve the petition within a couple weeks.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
