04/02/13 - Interview! Passed!

May 2013 - Oath Ceremony!

As promised, here's my interview experience. Interview was scheduled for 9.30am, I arrived at 9am. The line was a bit long and slow, got to the 15th floor about 9.20am. Handed in my appointment letter

Can we have a discussion on why no one from Texas has been put inline for interview as of yet? This is a bit odd to me; also I check the status of the applicants who applied on the same date as I did and I would say 75% of them are already inline for interview.

Enter 1997 F-1 visa

married to USC November 2005

Dec 21 05...sent I-485 and I-130 to Chicago

Jan 04 06...received NOA for both I-130 and I-485

Feb 21 06...Biometrics appointment (only take me half an hour for the whole process)

Mar 25 06...Received a letter for an interview appointment on May 18, 2006

May 18 06...Interview Approved (but no passport stamp, must wait for Welcoming Letter in order to get passport stamp)

May 22 06...Received a Welcome Letter

May 30 06...Green Card Arrived :-) expired May 2008

Feb 26 08...sent I-751 to Nebraska Service Center

Mar 04 08...check $545 cashed

Mar 08 08...received NOA I-797C

July 17 08...10 yrs GreenCard Arrived

Where did you see others getting in line for interview?

The last 3 numbers of your receipt is basically the number of applicants that applied on that day, so for instance if your last 3 numbers of your receipt number is lets say 100 that means you were the 100th applicant that apply on that day. So what I do is I check the status of the applicants on that day, I would go 101, 102, 103 and so on. I found that most of those applicants are already inline for interview or have been scheduled for interview. I'm still stuck at initial review. I'm just one of few people on the day that I applied that's still stuck at initial review.

1/10/2013 I was scheduled for interview...waiting for the mail.

Let's hope that the system is indeed unreliable haha, but it would be nice to see that your actually status changed to Inline or interview scheduled.

I could be wrong but usually my background check doesn't take that long. I did a FBI background check few months ago for US Customs and Immigration to get my global Entry and it took exactly 5 days to clear.

It could be then your local office who taking longer.
