what do they consider flu shot season?

Did you looked at the web page? it says "En temporada de influenza (21 de Agosto al 30 de Abril)"(prices for this 350) and "Fuera de temporada de influenza (1 de Mayo al 20 de Agosto)"(prices for this 290)

So depending on when your application is approved that when you will determain under which season you will fall on...

We wondered the same thing! It's a medical exam plus flu shot, vaccines and possibly x-rays. If you have proof of having received any of the vaccinations and they will adjust the cost accordingly. Check out this link. It breaks down the cost of the exam plus the cost of the vaccines. Plus helpful videos and instructions. Cheers!

Oops here's the link! Cheers!

The problem with having proof is that they make you pay the fee up front and then it is up to the physician if he wants to except the shot record you have and give any adjustments based on shots all ready given, and there is no break down of what each shot costs so how much of the $110 or $170(depending on season) you get back is up to them. The $180 is the fee for the exam and is non-negotiable. However, only if you are filing for a K-1 visa do you have the option of telling them you only want to pay for the exam.

OMG..why are they so expensive over there???

Well if you really think about this is what it would cost you in the US to see a doctor and get shots it's just that insurance covers all of that except the co-pay if you have one, so you never notice that unless you look at the statement they send to you showing what they are billing your insurance company. Of course a regular doctors visit with a doctor here in the DR will run you about $20, however they are not affiliated with the US government therefore they bill according to the the type of patients they see on a regular for the same type of exam, add about $45 more for the x-ray.
