How widely are Globe/Smart/etc. prepaid microsim cards available in the Philippines?

Unless things have changed in the last few months you're not likely to find many with the street vendors. The mall shops tend to carry a few. However if you use a micro sim device often you might want to learn how to cut a standard sim down to size. All it requires is a sharp hobby knife or scissors and a careful hand.

Available, Yes. "Widely" not so sure you can buy one at a sari sari type of store. Iphones and the Galaxy S3 are pretty prevalent so micro sims are available. Not sure of the kiosks at the arrival area of NAIA Terminals have micro sims, but if in Manila you can surely pick one up at a Mall shop or in Greenhills.

Unless it's necessary for you to use the microsim card for your current phone, I think the availability is limited right now. If you have an old unlocked phone, then regular size sims are readily accessible.

Its readily available everywhere in Metro Manila (and other major cities). You can buy it even from small cellphone stalls (tiangge-type).

I mentioned the same thing earlier but I'll also add in case it might not be understood; A full sized sim card is IDENTICAL to a micro sim card except for having a bit more extra worthless plastic around the edges.

I had one cut for my fiancee for 30PHP at Glorietta mall.

The Smart buddy SIM I bought for myself was a normal SIM with a Micro SIM punch out, so it could be used for either size. I got it on eBay before my trip, so I'm not sure how widely available it is there.
