what to do after arriving in CA

hi there!

would like to know if i can apply for california ID even without ssn yet? i've visited the SS office earlier and was informed it'll be mailed to my by next month. i'm planning to go to dmv tomorrow to obtain california id. is it possible even without ss number? and are there any other things i need to do aside from these?

You need your social security number.

You will need ssn & valid 1-94 as well.if you go to dmv somewhere in victorville they don't issue you w/o a green card.

You need your SSN Card when applying for State ID, other requirements.. Passport/Visa, Green Card and just bring along MC, BC just incase they ask.

you can go into the SSA office AGAIN, the next day,

and get the actual number.

I don't know about CA but here in AZ they asked to see the actual SS card, not just asked my wife to receit the number.

next month??? ang tagal nmn nun . 2 - 3 days lang dito sa mo. anyways u need SSN green card & I-94.but you can go to SS office they will print u a temporary SS card you can use that,

^^^ This is exactly what we did. They'll print out something showing your name and SSN assigned to you.

You can then use this document to obtain your driver's license/state ID.

It is a good Idea to bring all the Aforementioned items, but you definetly will need the Green card for CA State ID.

The I-94 is an acceptable legal document per http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl_info.htm#BDLP. She may present that in lieu of green card.
