Hey there VJ Family,

We are traveling for four weeks for the Christmas holiday to visit my parents in another state.

Anyone know if we should alert USCIS of a temporary address change [even though we are not moving]?

We are October Filers and just completed our biometrics appt. on Nov. 16th. Not sure if they'll send us any correspondence in the interim but I know they don't allow USPS to forward mail. We normally do Premium Forwarding with USPS when we travel for long periods of time.

Anyone have any insights or advice?

Many thanks!

No.

Filing a change of address is for permanent address changes only, which this is not.

Thanks, Hypnos. That is what I thought. Do you know what happens to mail they might send us while we are away? It's not forwarded, correct? In that case, any thoughts as to what we'd have to do?

It's not forwarded unless you ask the post office to forward all your mail.

If you are worried an important interview letter may come, then you could have a friend or trusted neighbour check your mail?
