does anyone know how to get a passport in one day?in need of a passport asap >.<

You can go to a passport agency listed here, make an appointmetn using their on-line system, visit them, pay the expidite fee and walk out with a passport. Just make sure to bring all required documentation with you.

You must be traveling or require a passport within 14 days to use this service.

Good luck,

Dave

Online passport applications are not possible. Also, as one poster pointed out, you must apply in person for your first US passport.

After you get your first US passport, renewals are possible via mail.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

Also not sure about the office in Cali, but when I got mine, and my son's(got them on separate occasions). I had to come back the next day for pick up, not sure if it was because of the time of day I had the appointments or what.

Cant be done online specially since you need to allow for shipping time.

Go to the agency in the AM, even if you cant get an appointment, if you bring your eticket showing you leave the next day or later the same day you will get your passport. If it is an emergency you can also bring supporting documents. You will need to pay the expedite fee in addition to the normal passport fee (about $200 total). Dont forget the passport size photos, white background, also your old (expired) passport if its renewal, or your proof of citizenship (original).

Good Luck

Our nearest DOS service center is located in big fat no parking zone downtown Chicago, and you sure don't need a passport in downtown Chicago. But you sure need one at O'Hare Airport that not only has plenty of parking space, but can knock off as much as 8 hours traffic driving time as O'Hare is located way out of town right off the interstate.

So why can't the DOS locate themselves there? What we have to do is to plan ahead to save that two day trip and pay a small fortune to stay in a hotel, plus losing more time at work.

But since my wife also needs to maintain her foreign passport, with the closest consulate also located in big fat no parking zone downtown Chicago, still have to show up in person to maintain that. This is because of an agreement with our DOS and her home country, we weren't certainly a part of that agreement.

Learned that the USCIS wasn't exactly correct when they told us, she is now a US citizen just as if she was born here. DOS has different ideas on this subject. But at least with the DOS, can avoid some of these problems if you plan ahead.

i will be making an appointment in L.A and hoping to get my passport in one day.. Anyone have some tips or information in doing this?im a bit anxious ><

If you are over 18 years of age, should be able to take care of that all by yourself. Least that is what I told my stepdaughter. Need a properly filled out DS-11, now trying to remember, believe you sign it in front of the officer, two DOS approved passport photos, your original naturalization certificate, an out of country airline ticket within two weeks, and a pile of money. Stepdaughter didn't have that, that is what she needed me for.
