You can visit for sure. I just did for 9 days. I said "I'm visiting my husband." She said "Oh how did you meet this gentleman?" I said "Playing online computer games" *smiled* She said "Have a nice trip" No stamp or anything. Worst part of the trip was missing my connecting flight in Seattle. I also visited in August for a week and we were married in May. He is coming up here for xmas :)

For our proof we sent in pictures of us together, pictures of our wedding with family, a photocopy of the jeep insurance in the USA (has my name on it) a copy of our bank account with both of our names on it, photocopies of boarding passes and itineraries, an affidavit from my mother (who was the minister at our wedding btw) and a notarized affidavit from his best friend.

As for the support issues, they look at the most recent work stuff. He can include pay stubs and a letter from his employer stating how much he makes per year when you guys get to that point.

Also because you're from Canada you really want to check out:

Also it's good to note that you will be doing your interview in Montreal. There is no other option for immigrant visas in Canada.

Ahhhhhhhhh don't tell me you met him playing WoW.

Admitting that in my letter in my I-130 was the most embarrassing things ever

I am glad I am not the only person who met my husband on a MMORPG. Ours was Guild Wars  Yes I have taken note already that when we get to the interview stage it will be in Montreal. Which is so stupid. Hello Vancouver get your act together! NikiR- How did you manage to get the insurance in your name? Apparently I can't be put on the insurance until I actually move there. So after reading everyone's posts on here. Does this really mean I can 'attempt' to travel to the US to visit my husband during the visa process?! If so, that is awesome! I was thinking these 2 weeks at Christmas would be my last time seeing him until all the visa stuff is over and I move there! One more thing I am curious about when we get to the interview stage, does my husband have to be there with me?!

If you are asking about the car insurance you can be added on his insurance as a spouse and then an excluded driver. I got a better rate adding my husband after I married and I just excluded him as a driver.

My husband also got a discounted rate because he was married. I didn't up in Canada so I didn't bother! It's kinda silly but whatever.

You sure can visit, just bring ties to show you're going home. I wasn't asked for anything but in the Canada forum others have been questioned pretty thoroughly. It's good to show you have a job to return to, a lease or mortgage, and bills in your name. My husband has never had any trouble coming to Canada either even when he said he was visiting his fiancée or getting married. We've always had a return ticket though and never stay for more than a couple weeks.

This process is pretty hard, but it's not as bad for us (Canadians) as it is for other countries who need a visa to visit . Best of luck
