Hi,

Any advice or suggestions on moving/sending my fiance's possesions from SK Canada to the States (MO)this coming January?

She will probably have a half dozen boxes. Should we research some shipping companies experienced in this, can we use the regular old mail, or just arrange to have them sent after she moves? Could or should these boxes come with her on the day she flies? Your personal experiences good or bad appreciated.

She can check with her airline to see the costs of additional weight/baggage. But from what I understand it's rather expensive. Some airlines charge heavty fee's for overage- and some won't take excess weight within certain kg's.

I plan to purge- purge- purge- donate and give....when it comes to my time...

I also am going to go through stuff that I know I want to keep and have my husband bring some stuff back with him on his visits to me.

The cheapest I have found is UPS as they take up to 75lbs a box. Moving companies such as United Van lines etc are pretty expensive. I guess it really depends on how your finace intends to get from SK to MO. Drive, Fly etc that will make the difference.

01/23/2007 Everything currently on hold due to Adam Walsh Act :(

03/14/2007 E-mail from Montreal saying i'm clear from USCIS on Adam Walsh Act

03/22/2007 Got e-mail from Montreal that interview is May 22nd!

05/15/2007 Finally received interview letter

05/22/2007 Approved!!!!

05/28/2007 Visa arrived!!!

05/31/2007 Big move to the US

06/12/2007 SSN arrived

06/22/2007 Welcome letter arrived

06/28/2007 10 year Green Card arrived!!!

N-400

05/31/2010 Eligible to apply for citizenship

hi i looked into a few options too.

because i'm moving all my furniture also i rented a uhaul its one way plus free month storage so that helps alot

i would be very careful with what is taken across on visits border frowns on this. I inquired about this at border and they said out right that my husband couldn't take stuff back with him. maybe its different if you have your paper work all done

your own personal and household goods cannot legally go ahead of you to the US. They either go with you, or follow you. If they follow you, a photocopy of the I-94 and your visa must accompany the customs declaration forms.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card
