Question about Employer Letter for 134

Just a few questions about the letter from your employer. I am employed part time, and though I did get a letter from my employer it is not on business stationary. Do I still need the letter if I'm employed part time (and have a co sponsor), and how crucial is it for the letter to be on company paper? Thanks in advance...

It says right in the instructions for the I-134:

Statement of your employer on business stationery showing:

1) Date and nature of employment

2) Salary Paid

3) Whether position is temporary or permanent.

That should answer your question....

Yes, it needs to be on Business Letterhead. Otherwise anyone can print up a letter, this makes it look a little more professional.

And yes, you need one even if you are part time. That is the reason they outline the specific questions about nature of employment and whether it is temporary or permanent. Your letter does not hold as much weight as your cosponsors since they are the one with the money, but it should still follow the guidelines they set out.

If you are not sponsoring her, you don't need to fill out the I134 or submit any employment letters. If you are using both your income and the sponsor's then you need to submit an I134 also. Good luck

It is my understanding that both the sponsor and the cosponsor need to fill out the forms, even if the original sponsor (the USC) doesn't make enough money, hence the cosponsor. Maybe I'm reading what you said wrong?
