I've called around and was told to get a blood test to prove Immunization. I know I'm missing my Grade 9 booster shot and Tetnus needs updating & me or my Daughter have never had a flu shot. What my question is, will I be able to get any shots I don't have at the Medical Exam? my interview date is on December 13th and to book appointment for any immunizations here take weeks!

I take it you don't have a family Dr? You can't get them at Urgent Care? Why pay extra $$$ at the Medical instead of doing it at home?

I would get on getting that titre test for immunity ASAP. I had that done and it took about a month to get the results back. I was in Ontario and it was free when I went to my family Dr. Had I been missing anything I would have got it through my Dr as the shots would have been free as well.

They're usually free at a health unit except for Tdap. You will need a blood test prior to getting shots to prove you need the shot.

I managed to get my Tdap for free because I'm a teacher who works with children and there was a whooping cough outbreak, so that qualified me. Maybe something similar applies to you?

I got my blood test done, takes 7 to 10 days for results... Booked appointment at the Dr in Montreal for the 7th of December... Here in my City it takes Months to get into the Health unit to get shots... Money isn't a problem.

I decided to just get my MMR done over again. The nurse said it didn't matter. I was told they didn't have records earlier than 1985. Also, the pharmacies around here are doing the Tdap shot.

Yes I'm in BC... I got my Blood test done at Biomedical lab. 1st went to my family doctor to get the form from him. Biomedical doesn't do the testing themselves, they send it to somewhere else (can't remember the name. They told me the results will come back in 7-10 days and to get it from my Doctor.

I just got my Tdap booster yesterday and am doing bloodwork for my others to prove I had them as I don't have any paper records from my childhood doctor. Mine was no charge. Maybe it is different here in Ontario?

I just went to a walk-in clinic and asked for a blood test (I needed to prove I hadn't had chicken pox). She asked me a bunch of questions and finally gave me the form for the blood test. I told her it was for immigration purposes and I needed to get a varicella vaccination. Getting the blood test for chicken pox is hard because no one believes a 25 year old hasn't had chicken pox - lol!
