Greetings!

My husband is an american living in the philippines and we been married for almost 6 yrs now. We just file our IR-1 last Oct.9, 2012. We wondered what is the next step we will expecting for and how long should we wait ? Any idea on how long or time line we will finally got my visa approved since we just file last Oct.9 , 2012. Any info much appreciated.

And also we just got our CRBA & US Passport for our 2 kids which is 8 months and 4 yrs old.Does it helps if we will also show this to US Embassy for my IR-1 Application? And Finally for our concern one of our kid had Congenital Heart Defect and we need to bring her to the US ASAP!!! Is there a way we can speed this up ?

Any resourceful info much appreciated .

Did your US Citizen husband file at the USCIS field office in Manila or did he send the file to the lockbox in Chicago?

He can make an expedite request and cite the medical condition of one of the children as the reason, but there is no guarantee the request will be granted. The reason the expedite request may not be granted is your husband and the child already have US Passports and in the eyes of USCIS, there is nothing stopping them from going to the US now.

July 26, 2011: Received NOA2 via text/email!!!
July 30, 2011: Received NOA2 hardcopy in mail
August 8, 2011: NVC received file
September 1, 2011: NVC case number assigned
September 2, 2011: AOS invoice received, OPTIN email for EP sent
September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)
September 8, 2011: OPTIN email accepted, GZO number assigned
September 10, 2011: Emailed AOS package
September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced
September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Since this is a DCF (Direct Consulate Filing, acronym used when a petition is filed at an overseas USCIS office) filing, processing of files that were filed via DCF tend to move much faster to begin with than if it had been filed stateside.

Although I found the following post in another forum, it's certainly applicable to your desire in pursuing an expedite given your set of circumstances:

So for an expedite of your case you'll need to address the following quesitons

1. Why can't the child travel to the US without you and receive the medical care with his father?

2. Why can't the child receive the medical care in PI?

If you can successfully answer those questions then I suggest filing an expedite
