How long does it take to get an immigration interview at the Consulate in Montreal after sending the DS-230 documents to NVC? It's been since October 10th 2012 since our lawyer received an email from them saying our DS-230 was sent incorrectly through mail & they only accept it electronically now... The lawyer did what they asked right away and then we received notification from NVC that they are processing our application (again) It's for the IR1/CR-1 Visa.

Just to make sure, you paid both bills ($88 and $230), sent both packages (AOS and IV), and did the DS-260 online?

Yes, everything is paid for and the application was done online on October 10th. It's been exactly 2 weeks ago and still nothing

Have you gotten a case complete yet? Either by email or by calling up NVC and asking?

Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application Confirmation

Thank You

Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application form (Form DS-260) has been automatically forwarded to the National

Visa Center (NVC) and will be processed in 3 to 5 business days.

This is the email about my daughters application and mine said it had to be sent electronically which we did right away, it's really confusing I'm not sure if it means both was complete or just the one.

We have reviewed the documents which you submitted in support of an application for an immigrant

visa. Please review the information listed under each applicant's name and provide any documents

which are indicated as missing or need additional information. You must submit the required

information. Failure to provide the requested information will delay your immigrant visa interview.... >>>>>>This was my email

The notice you received from them states only that they have accepted your DS-260.

You'll still need to complete and send in your Affidavit of Support form, as well as your IV application and supporting documents.

Our DS-260, AOS, and IV were reviewed and case closed at the NVC Oct 15. We were told to wait for the next interview block to be released (early December). From what I've read, they notify you of your interview about 1month in advance. Hope that helps with your timeline.

When your IV application and supporting documents, as well as your AOS have been reviewed and cleared, your case will be deemed CLOSED at the NVC, and sent to the Montreal consulate.

The NVC will still book your interview for you, but from what I've been told (by a supervisor at the NVC), they schedule appointments in blocks. When our case closed, the supervisor noted that all of the November interviews had been booked, so when they release the next set of dates (for early December), we would be scheduled then.

Have you received notification from the NVC that "The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing of your case. As soon as an interview has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) will be notified"??

That's how you'll know they have reviewed and cleared your IV application and your AOS form.

The other way to find out is the call, 1-603-334-0700, and ask. You'll need your case number, as well as the petitioner and beneficiary's name and birthdate in order to access info. Be ready for a 10-20min wait time on hold.

please tell the USCitizen Spouse to call INTO the NVC Hotline today, and inquire for casefile status.

Use a Telephone. Get a Human. Inquire.

No need to touch base, check in, with the lawyer, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
