Updates vs. Touches

Hey everyone..

I was reading this:

and decided to follow the directions. So I logged on and checked the box next to my receipt number. I then clicked last update and the date changed from 9/20 until today 10/30. does this mean that my account was updated today? could this have been updated before and I never noticed because I just checked to see if the date changed, I never clicked on anything?

Is this a touch?

Bora Bora,

Why not set up a USCIS online account? Here is the site. You will need your case number and an e-mail account.

Based upon what you described, your case was touched today. Keep in mind that they could have just moved your file from one stack to another, perhaps more. There is no way to tell what they did.

I have an account set up and my check was cashed on 9/18 and I was given a receipt number.

I've been checking constantly since then because 9/19 and 9/20 my account was updated.

Now I just clicked where it says "Last updated" and today's date came up. That is why I wanted to know if it means that my account was looked at today?

If so...is there anyway for me to know if it was looked at before today?

I know it could mean nothing but the idea that it could is exciting.

Yes, your case was "touched" today. However, touches can mean many things. Some people get excited by the "touch", myself included. With that said, debates have gone on in VJ so many times, on the merits (or lack thereof) of touches.

There is no way to look at touches retroactively. You would need to check everyday to not miss one.

I just tried what you tried- clicking the last update but it does not change my date. Hope it means good news for you

Me too.

Now I think I've done that before, but not for a long time so I may have had more touches but didn't know. At least I have this...
