K1 Expedite Request Approved after 17 Days!!!

My reason for financial hardship was for all the expenses I incurred with my first.K1 that was returned from the US Consulate in Kingston, Jamaica, the new expenses I will have to incur once again with my new k1, the days without pay that I took to visit my fiance, and the fact that we are expecting our child together in March. Also, the burden of helping my fiance out sometimes financially due to his job instability in Jamaica. Also, the burden of taking care of myself and my four year old daughter as well. I provided proof of everything stated which included a letter from my job. Also, I stated by when I would need my expedite. I had a load of reasons and proof to back it up. Once you can prove your financial hardship with evidence then your good. One key thing I pointed out to them is the fact that I make way above the poverty level so when it reaches the Consulate in Kingston I dont have to worry about them thinking I wont be able to support my fiance when he gets here.

Not sure how caring for yourself and your own child qualifies as a hardship considering as you said, you make well above the poverty line. Nevertheless, good luck in the process.

I agree....I too am very happy for you, but if everyone got expedited for the same reasons more than half of the applications would fall under that category. I think there may be another reason your expedite got approved: the fact that your representative stood on your side may be a more likely explanation. One way or another, great for you!!

Umm actually, reread what I said. You missed like 85% of what I said LOL. I think you just wanted to have something to say. That is why I said positive feedback.

Umm did you read what I originally posted or did you scim through it? I guess some people like to feel valid so they put their one cent into things. There are people with less severe cases than mines that got approved without a Representative and they fell under the financial hardship. So you are right, you are using your opinion. Definitely, not stating a fact.

Congrats on the expedite, but I also think it was more due to the first K1 being denied and the rep on your side. There are many people who request sorely on financial hardship that don't get approved.

Either way, its very true, you wont know what you can get unless you request it.

You can be right. But, there people who got approved for expedites under financial hardship without the help of representatives. I really think my first returned K1 played a significant part and also my pregnancy. When I spoke with many Tier 2 operators they all said that they feel that I will get approved because of those reasons especially the baby on the way. Either way or for whatever reasons, I'm happy for the results. It's one of the only positive feedbacks I've gotten from the USCIS in a while. I was really devastated with the first returned K1.

It doesn't matter why you were approved for expedited processing or not but I am quite impressed that you tried anyways. If you keep this attitude I'm sure you'll be successful in the future and you'll be able to get yourself out of your financial hardship. I salute you!

FB14, congrats on your expedite. you are indeed very lucky.

No one can understand your hardship except you. They say he who wears the shoe knows where it hurts. This process can be financially and emotionally draining. I have lost 2 pregnancies due to the stress of this visa journey. So I stand in awe when I hear people say pregnancy cannot qualify for expedite. Some lucky people have smooth pregnancies, but that is not true for everyone.

Whether the pregnancy was planned or not is another story, but when it happens you must do everything in your power to protect it.

If along the way you find out you need your spouse and the process hastened up, please by all means request an expedite. Like others said you never receive if you do not ask.

Congrats. All the best on this journey.

Thanks. Definitely needed because I know this is only the beginning. I'm really worried about the interview. We were denied last year :(. I guess this time around they will realize that our relationship IS bonafied.

If you don't mind me asking, why did they deny you at the interview?

Also, congrats!
