Co-Sponsor Question

Hello netizens of VJ,

I hope you are well.

Even though my wife is making more than what is required as per poverty guidelines for 2012, I have arranged for Co-Sponsor just as a backup.

My friend has agreed to send me the required paperwork for this purpose however there is one confusion. As many of you know how the mail (post) is in the U.S.A and considering the possibility of the confidential paperwork getting lost somewhere in the way, my friend has asked if he could just complete, sign the I-864 and scan it to me along with rest of the papers like (copies of pay stubs and etc) instead of sending it by mail?

So, the question of the day is ... does anyone know if the Consulate Officer may accept the scanned copies or will he/she ask particularly for an original signed paperwork?

The I 964 form is a contract and must be presented with the original signature not a scanned copy.

You can send in the scan copy as long as you can provide original at the interview.
