Class Picture - is this needed for CR1 applicants as added proof?

Hi everyone,

I am married to my highschool classmate. He migrated before we graduated highschool, came back here for a visit a few years back and the rest is history. We weren't high school sweethearts though.

Anyhow, I've been reading that some who had a similar story who went via the K1-visa route, had to show or was asked for a class picture during the interview. I personally know someone who was petitioned by her highschool classmate via the fiancee visa route who, after being interviewed, was asked to return and bring a copy of a high school class picture. I am just wondering, as a CR1 filer, will I be asked also for this? I have all copies of our high school class pictures, but it just so happens that he's always not at school whenever we had our class picture taken, lol.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I never heard of a high school photo as a requirement.

I married my college sweetheart, and was never asked to show actual college photos. When in doubt, bring them.

Good luck with your interview! Keep us posted!

No need to bring class pictures if you guys weren't in a relationship during those times.

What you need to bring are photos of you with your petitioner from your trips, wedding and other occasions from the time you became sweethearts until the present.

It's not a requirement, but some were asked to show it as proof, however I am referring to interview experiences shared by K1 filers. Just wondering if there were similar cases for CR1 filers. Because if there were, I have nothing to show with my husband in the class pictures, haha!

Yup, thank goodness for photobooks! :)

I guess the CO would be more interested in questioning how true the marriage is rather than how knew each other. I'm just playing some questions in my head. What if I am asked about how we met. I answer with 'we were classmates in highschool'. What if, the CO asks for proof... This is just the one thing I have not figured out yet. And what if, out of the many possible things, this is the make or break question...

I think they'll prefer the current photos when you're actually in the relationship already. Although it will be cute to just bring a couple of those to show the CO :)

Good luck!

I think so too. I was going through the list of possible questions and the "how did you meet part" just got me thinking. And if asked for a proof that indeed we were classmates, I have nothing to show. Haha! Oh well, I just hope the CO won't request for that.

Thanks!
