Hi everyone! Sorry to be asking yet another question about police checks, lol! But I just did a quick search here on VJ to check that it was okay to have my police check done before receiving the NOA2 and NVC case number, and it seemed that many people think you need to have your case number before booking the police check. That seems to contradict what I'd been hearing as people here have advised me to do my police check early! So... If you did yours early and it was fine, can you please give me a shout here and let me know?

Yes, id recommend to do so. I kind of wish I had my fiance had done it sooner.

USCIS

03/31/2012: I-129F sent to Dallas Lockbox

04/03/2012: I-129F recieved and sent to VSC

04/06/2012: NOA1 text/email.

04/09/2012: Touched.

04/12/2012: NOA1 hardcopy.

09/06/2012: Service request placed- They advised I should hear something by 9/21

09/17/2012: Received letter from USCIS just to be told i'm within' normal processing time bleh.

10/03/2012: NOA2 text received - Best part is it's our 2nd year anniversary!! Great Gift! :)

Sydney Consulate

10/21/2012: Packet 3 Received

11/30/2012: Sent packet 3

12/27/2012: Received packet 4 Interview date :)

01/22/2013: Medical completed

02/05/2013: Interview date status: APPROVED 306 Days!!

02/22/2013: Visa in Hand

02/24/2013: POE- Dallas, TX- then connecting flight home!

Total Time it took to complete our K1 process- 10 months and 3 weeks!!! INSANE! (325 days)

Just check how long the police certificate is valid for as if varies by country. In the UK, police certificates are valid for 12 months, some countries are only 3-6. Either way, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it soon so that way it's complete and in your hands when you need it!

07/25/14: NOA Received

07/29/14: Check for application & biometrics cleared bank

08/18/14: Biometrics Completed

In some countries the police certificate is only good for 6 months, or it may be a year. I know my husband's was good for a year and he obtained his when he got NOA2. Good luck!! rose.gif

Aussie ones are valid for 12 months I'm sure.

Early is fine. This is a country issue and in Australia it's fine, no case number required. The medical on the other hand is a different matter as many doctors require the case number for that. Call the panel physician in your area to determine what they require.

Balmain police station messed it up and send the fingerprint sheet to my house instead of Parramatta, 8 days after taking my fingerprints, in my supplied express post envelope :wacko: . so its taken almost 3 weeks, I'll have it in my hands Monday or Tuesday though. I'm hoping desperately I'll get a November interview, I don't care when in November, just as long as its November.
