a little confused about medical

Hey guys!

I recieved packet 3 a couple of weeks ago and I am a bit confused about the medical. I am in Australia and I was just wondering should I go to my local GP and have most of the blood tests done? And is there an "expiry" date on getting all this stuff done........because I can't get time off till January to have my medical......Grrrrrrrr, this is so confusing to me.

Also, my fiance's parents are going to co-sponser....we have the forms they need to fill out, so do I let the embassy know before I go for my interview, or just take it along with me?

Hi tristessa...

What I did was call the doctors appointed by the consulate and asked their secretaries what I was supposed to bring with me to the medical consulation. Each one had a different answer (in one of them you had to go there for the blood tests and pay 3 times more than you would in a regular lab!). In the end I got all the exams thru my local gyno and GP, including the vaccinations (the ones he thought were needed from the list on package 3). I am going to my medical in two weeks and will bring it all with me.

I think the first step is call the appointed doctors, see what they require and go from there. Good luck!

The consulate should have given you a list of doctors.

About the co-sponsor, mine is not a K-1, but I don't think you have to report that to the consulate before you go for the interview. I hope someone else can help you with that!
