Hi Guys,

So not sure if this update will be useful, but I had my info pass appointment this morning. I was told that even the Chicago lock box is overwhelmed with cases since October. So they just haven't got to it. So asked about the supervisor or who ever in charge in approving , however was told that they will pass the message to adjudicator to expedite process. The guy seem pretty promising that he will PASS the message after taking copy of the documents and told me that he wont waste anyone's time.

So at least I cant stop worry about case getting loss or missing document for NOW, the sad thing is that I still have to wait with no clear timing...........anyway, hope hope hope this gets faster from here on....

You must go to the website, download a privacy form, and fax it to their office along with a statement of your case and what you need them to do. I also faxed a copy of my NOA2. They cannot communicate with you about the case or do any work for you until they receive that privacy form and the other information. They may not respond directly to you until they research the case and get information for you, which could take a week or two. They might call you with questions or a response. It really depends on what they find out and what they can do. If they can verify that the case was sent to the NVC, they can get the batch number and call the NVC to find out whether it was received. They cannot force the NVC to receive a file that is still in transit to them.

did the senator reply to you? what do you think is more helpfull to do? make a service request? when you call to the uscis what did they say to you?

Hi there! The senator's office did reply. They sent me a letter saying that they found my case was sent out from the USCIS on March 19. As you can tell from my sig, that's about six weeks after approval. My NVC case number was assigned yesterday afternoon, April 4. Incidentally they screwed it up because Northern Ireland is not Ireland and Dublin is the wrong embassy. I wanted to take the Red Hand of Ulster up to Portsmouth and smack them silly with it.

I had also e-mailed the NVC. They responded on the 22nd that my file was being retained by the local office, so you see how very accurate and helpful that was. Someone (I think an unusually knowledgeable Tier 1) explained that meant nothing except they were holding it for shipment. Which they clearly weren't at that time since it had already gone out.

I don't remember whether I asked for a service request. One was offered but I had already asked the Senator's office for help so I decided to hold back on that one. Part of the reason I was reluctant was that I had already done a service request before the I-130 was approved, and the response letter told me not to contact them again for 6 months (your standard "F off" letter). My I-130 was approved two weeks or so after I received that letter, by the way.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

Cut that worry ####### right out. Worry doesn't give strength to tomorrow, it just takes strength from today. Give yourself the strength you need for getting through the day today. We all know how hard and boring waiting is. :)

well, i got him twice on the phone. the second time he hung up on me, directly.

third call, learned the casefile has not left the Dallas Office.

Tempus Fugit !!! grrrrrr

Started a service request to get it out of the local office.

So, that's a congressional inquiry plus a service request, after casefile approval. Yay ! grrrr...

Hi, just curious how long it took for your senator to reply? I email my state senator last Thursday, still waiting now...

Have you used a telephone, getting in direct contact with that Senator's Immigration Liason Staffer Human? It is best to start with telephone contact - email as first contact isn't so useful if you're chasing a quick turn around.

Just heard back from my ILS Human, who heard back from the Congressional Liason at the local office.

Casefile still there, hasn't left. 'Allow 30 days blah blah. '
