Request for Evidence

On May 15, 2013, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested.

Not an approval, but at last...a sign of life and progress! I almost threw up! So happy! Can't wait to get the hard copy in the mail!!!

I got an RFE on april 23. The response was received on 4/29. Still no action has taken place since then. It has been over 17 days now!

Any idea when I will be approved and if it will even happen?

From what I have seen on this site, RFE's appear to take 2 to 4 weeks to process. I don't think there is a way to accurately predict here.

22 days seem to be a very long wait for mail. Maybe you should call and verify that your RFE was mailed to the right address. Did the emails mention what you need to send them?

Hello Shorty, I wish they would just email us with what's document we are lacking but they won't. Instead, they on keep telling my fiance there is nothing they can do about it and that we just have to wait. I'm worried that this just wont be gonna be our problem after RFE and NOA2, I just read from a thread that NVC is telling people case numbers new timeframe are now 60-90 days.

Wow sorry to hear about your situation Brandon and Sugar. I probably would've asked them to send another copy of the RFE as the one they sent before may've gotten lost in the mail. 60-90 days for case number from NVC?! I don't understand. Are they taking that long to forward stuff to the American embassy in certain countries? If so that is terrible because as far as I know it may take about 3 months before my fiance get interviewed after receiving packet 3. Seems like that would add another 5-6 months to the length of time it will take for my fiance to be able to move here.

You're welcome.... Oh i see what you're saying. Someone mentioned that they beliieve some files are being sent directly to NVC while others are sent somewhere else or basically placed on hold since USCIS may only be able to send a certain amount of files to NVC within a certain period of time. I'm not sure how that works but sounds like the worker that the person from the thread spoke to didn't know anything for sure. I'm hoping for my case to be in and out of NVC within 30 days or less. Goodluck getting your RFE hard copy

There is no way to be certain...but the past would indicate you should hear something within the next week. Guaranteed? Absolutely not. My NOA1 is Oct 11...and I still have heard nothing. No RFE. No NOA2. No nothing. My case has not even been touched according to the USCIS website. So...keep this in mind when you try to forecast results from your processing center.

On 4/29 I went to an infopass appointment at my local office. Like on the phone, I was offered no more information than usual..."it's in process". My biggest thing all along has been that I've never been able to check my statues since my receipt number isn't found in the system. So the lady that helped me that day went ahead and put in a service request to see if something could be done about my number and to get and update on my case. I finally received the hard copy of the response in the mail...which is the only way I can get my updates unless I wait on hold for 26 hours. "Your petition for Alien Fiancé (Form I129-F) is presently with an officer. Please allow a minimum of 60 days for this office to review your petition."

A MINIMUM OF 60 DAYS???? Did I just screw myself??? Did I just add 2 months to my 6 month wait?????? Ooohhhhheeeemmmmmmggggggeeeeeee!!!!!!!! What did I do!? Please!! Someone! Tell me I didn't just add 2 months to my processing time! Aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
