Aloha all,

We're October 2012 K1 filers also. Sent I-129F to Dallas lockbox on 15 Oct 2012 and just received our NOA1 with notice date of 23 Oct 2012 (received mail 26 Oct 2012). There's plans to meet Delia in Hong Kong (3rd+ visit) as the process is on going (December 2012 and/or sometime after February 2013).

Good luck all! And much mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) for the tips/example forms and lessons learned from this community. I hope to share our experience in return.

Mike

Good morning everyone,

I am also an October 2012 filer. I used VisaJourney to get some informaition and completed/filed my paperwork. I look forward to watching everyone's progress and we go through this journey together with the final results of getting married to our soon to be better half. I dated my sweet heart for the last 4 years while she was in the states working on her TN visa. She worked for a company that my company does business with. That is how we met. Her company closed in January of this year and she moved back to Mexico City. I have visited her a number of times as she has also visited me a number of times since January. Looking back I should have started the K1 visa progress sooner but that is water under the bridge. Everything is always in God's hands and through his plan we will end up with what He wants. God Bless each and everyone of you and God's Speed to each of us.

Feel as though I should say hello, since I have lurked on here for a while, reading everyone's experiences.

So, I'm the beneficiary (British) - he's American. We both currently live in the UK (he's on a short-term inter-company transfer visa here). We met before his transfer, had a long-distance thing for over a year, and we've lived together for the best part of a year now. Our pack therefore included such things as shared rental agreement, bills etc. We almost have enough evidence for a spousal (we were only engaged in September and don't have the time to do wedding planning + wedding + spousal visa before we want to return, hence the K1).

Anyway, we're hoping we'll be able to go back to the States at the start of next summer when his transfer here expires. We opted to get a lawyer to look over and submit our documentation, who specialises in this stuff and came to us via recommendation, mostly because I was concerned that his current location might be a problem (it isn't).

The only thing that we didn't have to do, that I know everyone else on here does, is two letters of intent to marry - our lawyer doesn't usually bother to include those in cases where the couple live together (I asked, since I knew everyone else seemed to include that/get RFEs) and hasn't had further requests for them in the past in those cases. I guess I am choosing to go with her superior expertise. :) But we'll see and I'll let you know if we get RFEd for that.

NOA1 last week.

Edit: Oh, just remembered another piece of info. Because we both live in the same place now, and he doesn't have a place in the States anymore, we had no address to fill in for where I would be living when I moved, which is required on the form. Our lawyer suggested we put a friend or family in, which we did (we asked our friend if it would be OK and that we were doing it, incase any mail should ever go there in relation to it). Just thought I'd mention that for anyone else who has the same problem.

I was sound asleep and at 1:47am this morning I woke up to the sound of my cell phone alerting me that I had received a text message. That had to be the best text message I ever received as it was from the USCIS telling me my case was received with a receipt number. The official receipt notice, form I-797 is being sent to me via US mail.

I checked my email this morning and also received an email from USCIS telling me my case has been routed to the Vermont Service Center for processing.

One day at a time. I am a former United States Marine and we used to say "Hurry up and wait"

Thanks for starting this October 2012 K1 filer thread so we can share our stories and watch each other's progress. Let me know if I can be of help to anyone.

God Bless each and everyone of you and God's Speed

Hi All.

I have been meaning to reply to this thread for a few days now and a text message/email received tonight has prompted me to finally post. My fiance and I (I am the beneficiary) submitted our I-129F on Oct 26th and received a wonderful text message and email tonight advising that it has been received and routed to the California facility. I presume that this is good news given what I have read about the Vermont SC and the wait times there.

So our journey begins. Excitement to say the least. Sadly she is asleep and I can't wake her to keep me company as I bounce off the walls. I know it's not much at this point, but I will gladly take this starting news. Good luck to all of you and hopefully we all have a smooth journey!

Jim

Hello all, we were members of October 2011 K-1 filers group. What a year it has been! :star:

Be kind and supportive of each other. You will get through this process working together as a team. Be patient and do not despair. The end results more than make up for the trials and tribulations that you likely encounter.

Good luck on your visa journey.
