The Thread for Songs You Left Behind in Britain

We had something like this going a couple of years ago in another thread -- songs that nobody (or hardly anybody) seems to know about in the States but were (often) inexplicably popular in Britain. We focused on the really, REALLY execrable stuff, but if anyone has any real overlooked gems, please post them! The only rules:

  • Must have been relatively well-known in the UK
  • Must be of the sort that if you ask an American, "Why don't you know this song? It was HUUUUUGE!" they look utterly confused.
  • Bonus points for feeling dirty just for posting the song.

So without further ado, I'll kick things off with the Cheeky Girls, "Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)."

You're welcome. tongue.gif

I read your post to my fiance (I'm the USC) and without hesitation he told me that I have to nominate Mr. Blobby. I have to agree, it's pretty awful LOL

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

I think you wanted to add this one. If you're not Scottish this will probably go over your head.
