Hi everyone, I need some short of advice. my fiancé will be leaving his country this fri OCT 5 he has connecting flight Guam to Hawaii the problem is he ONLY have 1 hour to catch his next flight and I’m afraid he might miss it...yikes!!!

I ask the airline told me if he misses his flight the next available flight he need to go out of US territory AGAIN (Guam to Narita)..This is a big problem for him. Second option he need to wait the next day.

Anyways here is my question anyone had any problem w/this short connecting time frame. What happen?

how long usually it takes to finish with the immigration officer?

is it a long LINE in guam POE?

Do you think 1 hour is enough for him NOT to miss his next flight?

Thanks

***FYI to avoid this hustle better yet booked without a connecting flight. i learned my lesson i'm trying to avoid paying extra for his flight now it might cost us a problem...ggggrrrr***

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

Unless anyone here owns a working crystal ball, no one will be able to tell you with certainty if there will be a big line or not.

First rule of International traveling with connecting flights: Have 3 or more hours between layovers.

Even if the line isn't big, but the flight takes longer, there is a big change he could miss his flight. This happens ALL the time.

If I were you, I would be changing his travel plans at this very second.

Agree with Celeste...if there's one hour between flights, there's no way he'll make the connection. Most flights start boarding 30 minutes prior to departure and depending on where he's sitting, it may take a while to get off the first flight. Best to rebook another flight that accounts for the needed time to get through customs without additional anxiety of missing the flight.

Honestly, in the time you're posting, you could try rebooking the flight. Yes, you'll pay more money, but again, less anxiety on worrying about missing the connecting flight.

I agree with LCL

Save yourself the grief and rebook that flight.

Most International Airports are really busy in the early mornings, yes.
