This is in response to your email inquiry.

Your husband’s case is still pending administrative processing and we cannot tell you exactly how much time the processing will require. Most administrative processing are resolved within 60 days of application. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Therefore, before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later.

We will contact him as soon as we can continue with your case.

Mounir and Kim,

The consulate kept your passport, they are likely doing a local background check where they speak to neighborhood police, friends and family. They responded to you via email which is better than what we got. You can call DOS to verify if it is local AP or administrative review in DC. As hard as it may be atleast wait the suggested time you are unable to place an inquiry until the consulate is given the time to finish their administrative processing.

They will call you when the AP/AR is complete. Keeping your passport is a good thing they called my husband after 62 days.

This is standard response during AP. I received this exact response on a couple occasions. You probably got a name hit. My husband did. We were on AP for 4 months. Waiting isn't pleasant but it's better than a denial.
