K1 VISA Notice

hello,

i am new to VJ and very excited that i have finally joined. i sent out an application for a k1 visa in march around the 5th and i filled out the form that says if you would like to be notified about your status via email or text too. on march 19th i received a text about NOA1 had been received and was being sent to vermont for processing......since that time i have not gotten any response yet.....my question is...will they send a text message or email confirmation to me only if they approve my application? or will they send one too if they reject my application? anyone who has been in this position please help...i am very nervous....i used to leave with my sister and that is the address i used for my application...she just called me and told me that i have a letter from uscis and i am very scared because i did not receive any notification through email or text and now i am scared that it might not be good news....i am really scared....has anyone gone through this before?

We signed up for notification and we didn't receive any when we had our petition approved. Who knows the letter your sister received could be your I-797C.

You will receive notification via text if it is approved or denied

you can go to this web site and use the receipt number from your NOA1 and it should tell you the status of your K1. Good Luck!

I signed up for the text alert as well, but I did not receive one. I just made it a habit to look at the USCIS website daily. Good luck!

I got a text and an email for an RFE and the approval---it is hit and miss with a lot of members. Good Luck

I don't think you need to worry about not getting email or text even you've signed up for it, it's just an option on top of the post mail they'll send to you. As long as you've check the USCIC website and it says Post Decision Activity then you're good and it means that you're an approved. Also you should have update USCIS when you move to another place for some of these letters are time-sensitive.
