Online Case Status - Receipt Number not Found

I have received NOA1 dated Feb 6, 2006 for my husbands I-130, but when I type in the receipt number in the Online Case Status search I get the message Receipt Number not Found.

How long does it take for the system to be updated. Should I be worried and track this down over the phone?

I sent the original application to the Texas Service Center, but the receipt is from the California Service Center, could this process be anymore confusing?

Any thoughts...

I recieved my noa 1 a month ago and can't track the case online yet either. I am wondering the same thing. Should i be worried about this? Does this mean i am not in the system yet? Or does it really not matter one way or another?

I wouldn't think it would take close to a month to get put into the system, that seems a little bit long, maybe you should try contacting them and find out why it is not in the system yet

Please do not worry.

The main thing is that you got all necessary papers from the service center.

Our case was not online for 4 months as well. Now it is

You may call to the customer service, they would tell you that you should now worry they do have your case in the system.

that happened to us too..... i learned here that i can check the status of our case on USCIS website. so i tried but got so worried coz everytime i type in our case number it says it is not recorded at the automated machine.. i talked to my husband and ask him if we are waiting for something or nothing....coz i was really upset everytime i check and the same message appears that our case is not recorded in their automated machine. ... i still try checking until our date came....we were waiting for july 7 ....husband and i really got so worried but always try to check 3 times or more than 3 times a day.....when i checked it july 20......it gave us so much joy coz we saw that they are processing our papers now....they say "its touched". We always check now at that site our case.......they touched it again feb. 6....... and now February 22 and we recieved email now from USCIS.....i always pray that our papers will be approved very soon.....and hope yours too.......patience patience patience......its hard to wait.....i nearly quit but husband really trying his best to do things for us to wait......all we need to do i think is not just check things on their site.....my husband called USCIS today and learned that our papers is on its way to NVC and they say the site is not really up to date......better call USCIS to check what is going on.....

need more patience....coz we know we will still wait.....but at least they are touching it or our papers is on process......

I just tried to check online status last week and was denied...and this is after receiving NOA 2. I was about to start a thread about it myself.

I called NVC and they had all my info updated so I guess things are moving along somehow.

I've just completed assembling the I-129F (K3) packet and so will pop it in the mail tomorrow.

I will give them a call a some point, but I'll have to take off work so I can sit down in a quite place to phone from, which is why I haven't phoned them yet.

Yeah we were months wondering if our case existed. We called and i think the operator uses the same way of finding out. So if the system is not updated then the operator might be no more help than the online form is. Worth a try though. But no need to worry.
