CFO counselors are known to have asked documents that weren't mentioned on their website.

But it does mention in Number 4 for their requirements for the Guidance & Counseling Program.

4. Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and

They should update their site as to what sort of documents one is expected to bring.

Thanks for the help, everyone. I downloaded the new form, and I'll send to my fiance--actually we'll see one another again next--can't wait! I'll bring her the form and get together with her parents to sign the form.

I'm assuming most banks will have a notary public? Any other locations where I can find one in the Phils?

I'm really amazed at the support here, gang. A big mahalo nui loa and salamat!

It's highly likely that the CFO will require the beneficiary to submit a notarized parental advice form.

If the beneficiary doesn't submit it, then they won't receive the CFO sticker.

If they don't have a CFO sticker in their passport, then they will not be allowed to board a flight to the U.S.

It doesn't matter where they are getting married, they still need to submit the parental advice form.

CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There have been changes regarding CFO so for sure read through their website.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Art. 14. In case either or both of the contracting parties, not having been emancipated by a previous marriage, are between the ages of eighteen and twenty-one, they shall, in addition to the requirements of the preceding articles, exhibit to the local civil registrar, the consent to their marriage of their father, mother, surviving parent or guardian, or persons having legal charge of them, in the order mentioned. Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Should the parents or guardian refuse to give any advice, this fact shall be stated in the sworn statement.

I'm in the US, and my fiance is 23. I downloaded the parent approval/consent form, because in Philippine law she is under 25 and needs parent consent/approval. However, since we're planning on marrying in the US, is this even necessary? And does she need to get it notarized? Could we get it signed, but not notarized, or will that mean a delay?

Thanks for all your help, in advance.

hello!

i'm 23 yr old also, yeah i do prepared also a parent consent in case CFO will ask it from me, but then they didnt asked any parent consent to me, but in case of emergency, lol in case they will ask it to your fiance better get one.

They only asked me to present my 2 valid photocopies of my ID. Then interview done.

Good luck!

God bless! :star:

Nice and straight forward! Anne was 24 last year and she did it with her parents so we had all originals and copies every step of the way...even though I hand carried everything everywhere!!! somewhere in the links and Philippine law it is required and CFO has given some girls a hard time from past stories on here.

I dont believe Anne was asked for it at CFO. It was not asked at interview, I was there and around corner of her CFO with every possible document prepared for anything.
