Hey guys good day to all of you ... well i must say my fiancee went to her interview an was issued 221 (g) due to the fact that i wasnt there with her .. I am so fackin pis right now .. the instruction they embassy give to her never say that both benificiary an petitioner has to be present .. Now them factin morons give us June 8 2007 for a joint interview .. It just seems as though some people just over use there powers given to them an can dictate people lives .. I just feel like scrap this whole thing an fu &V this place ,, it seems as though people who apply for a visa to emigrate here is begging them or something , i was so happy that we would have been together now this !! ANY WAYS the choose to issue a visa or not , we both love each other an if one cannot come here , then i will move back to my home land an screw the visa the consular can wipe her a-- with it ...

I would like to thank each an everyone one of you here that has help me out when i needed advise spec thanks to Mew an Willams , bills girl , all the rest of you who i miss out ... God bless ..

Sincerely.

Unbelievable.......I can't believe that ! Too much power in the hand of the

CO , how can he make up his own rules like that ?

I wonder if it happened to anyone else and what can be done quickly to

change this nonsense.

Who knows any of us may be next to experience this insanity !

I would suggest contacting your state senator now. Go to their website, download the privacy form, fill out your case information, and fax to their office. Call to follow up and get the name/email/direct phone of the person assigned to your case. There is no reason for you two to have to wait an additional 8 months for a "joint" interview when many consulates don't even allow fiances to enter the consulate. Best of luck - don't give up.

p.s. don't know if this will help others, but I am sending my fiance to his interview with a signed affadivit from me, reiterating the consulate's policy which is posted on their website, and indicating that I will not be at the interview due to their policy as well as work obligations and financial considerations. The letter also indicates that my absence should not in any way be construed or misinterpreted as lack of support or a lack of intention to marry my fiance.

There was somebody here from Colombia that had more or less the same thing happen. They were able to coontact the embassy and get the whole thing turned around quickly. This took an emergency trip to Bogota but it was over in a week or 2.

It was really frustrating becuase the web site for that embassy said that you should not bring your fiancee and then the op was punished for showing up alone.

If you hurry you may be able to do something before this all goes back.

Amazing.

From their own webpage:

Who Can Accompany Me to the Interview?

All persons listed on the petition must appear for the interview.

Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or court appointed legal guardian.

If an applicant has a handicap and requires assistance, that applicant may request that a friend or relative accompany him/her.

It is not necessary for the petitioner to attend the interview.

Attorneys are not allowed to be present for the interview.

http://georgetown.usembassy.gov/guyana/Immi_accompany.html

Of course, this is a type of 221(g)---did they give your fiance any paper?

What gets me is the length of time to set the interview out.. just like what Amman did.. tsk.

Deffo stir the pot on this one.

I agree, too many CO's seem to be playing God and not abiding by their own policies. Contact your senators and local represenatives asap. I have already gotten mine involved because of the incredible wait for interview dates. This is an election year and there is a higher chance someone from their office will pick up the phone for you.

yes as soon as the girl walk in the get the interview , that idiot consular officer handed that paper to my fiancee an say ( where is your fiancee ) he needs to be where , where as in packet 4 instruction say its not necessary for petitioner to be present an . And further more i call that embassy to confirm this ...

What really make me trip off is that the amount of waiting the put us to wait now just for a joint interview , i see this as a way to just break relationships ..

Remember: they CAN ask for anything they want.

This is just a particularly sneaky way to go about it.

Not terminated, but retrained.

I was thinking same thing. It is always possible that the conof perused the application and found something they felt required both the petitioner and applicant to be present.
