Enlighten us though because I know this is going to bring up issues. Who schedules the IR-5s? NVC or the Embassy?

Remember all, each category of visa's receive interview dates differently and from different places. IR-1/CR-1's are scheduled by NVC. The majority of you are waiting on scheduling and notices.

How did you get interview for your mom already?

Different type of visa. Hopefully ca_babe will come back and fill us in on the details of an IR-5 visa.

Mumbai, India - In September they scheduled 1493 interviews with 78-104 interviews per day. for October they have released only 761 interviews, i am still hopefull that they are going to add some more TODAY or next week for later part of October.

To answer everyone's question about my mom's interview date. IR-1s and IR-5s are processed the same way except that I don't need to show ongoing relationship with my mother. On Sept. 13, I requested to expedite processing from NVC and they forwarded my request to the US embassy in Manila. I got an email from NVC today saying that the US embassy in Manila approved my request and that NVC will now send my packet immediately. After this, it no longer follows the same procedure as an IR-1. The procedure now depends on the consulate. Each consulate have their own procedure. I scheduled the interview myself and the earliest for Manila is Nov. 8. I expect to have it rescheduled earlier like sometime in October. But NVC said that it takes DHL 6-10 business day to deliver the packet so I will follow up with the rescheduling of the appointment with the US Embassy when my documents arrived. In the meantime, I need an appointment letter so that my mom can go to her medical which she'll go to on Tuesday.
