MIna09 & MoonMoon >> Jut curious, do you know the timeline for IR1/CR1? You seem to get frustrated at this very early stage. Trust me, this is a very cruel, brutal and painful journey and you will be really disappointed many times down the road. This journey may take (For Mina09, I could speak from experience), 8 months to 12+ months depending on varieties of things. There will be times when you will feel helpless unless you are prepared for it.

Yes, I do know the timeline for the IR1/CR1. I'm not frustrated, I am worried. I was curious to know if my case was the only one that went to NBC or was it happening to everyone else so I know whether or not I should expect and interview or not. As a matter of fact, from all the recent posts, I realize that lately August and September cases are being transferred to NBC because of the over-load at other centers. I already know how long this journey takes, that wasn't what this topic was opened for. I'm glad you had some input but it wasn't helpful to the topic at hand. There shouldn't be a reason to feel helpless (unless something extreme happens that doesn't happen to others normally). It's pretty much already outlined roughly as to what we should expect when going through this journey (also it's called a journey because we expect it to be fairly long). I'm sure most people do research on this if they are preparing for it ahead of time so they are aware, like me. However, things such as these transfers can mean different things, which is what I wanted to make sure. Thanks anyway.

Agreed. It's difficult enough that I had to leave my husband so far away. It's extremely difficult to accept when something causes the process to be longer. I hope USCIS is kind towards us and realizes how dire it is for us to be with our beloved.

hey Mina90, if you have any update please let me know, i asked some people any information about NBC and they said there is nothing to worry about.

I haven't had any update, which is probably a good thing meaning they are probably just processing normally at the NBC like others are saying. I will definitely update when I find out what happens next. Please let me know as well if you have any updates too. :)

Hey moonmoon, I just got a text from USCIS and it says my case has been updated. I looked at the case status on USCIS website and now it says "The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

So now it changed from "your case is being transferred" to "your case was transferred to a USCIS office"...I don't know if this is bad news or good news.

I have this same issue. I called, however, and they didn't tell me. Instead, they initiated some sort of service request which will be answered directly to me by e-mail. What are the magic words to get them to tell me where they sent my file?

07/10/2012: Married!

09/24/2012: Case transferred to another office for processing

I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. I did some research and made some phone calls to USCIS and I was told not to worry. The cases are being transferred to NBC to assist the back log of case loads at CSC and VSC. The service centers are overloaded with petitions from the new law that passed for the children brought to the USA as a child. I have alos found on this site and a few other sites that this has happened to many Aug and Sept 2012 filers. I hope this help relieve your minds :D

I almost love you for this. I hope that being transferred to NBC means it's nothing to worry and they're just processing normally (or faster, the better). I had no idea about the new law! Great information! I feel much much better now. :D

I just called them and asked them i received notification of the transfer and watned to know where it was sent. The initial rep didn't know and he told me i can either email national customer service center for the request, leave a voice mail or stay on hold. So i stayed on hold for 20 min and i got someone that saw in the notes it was sent to NBC.
