Not that I don't think he's shady but him not inviting his fiancee to the forum doesn't make him scammier lol. We're not his parents that he had to introduce her to us. How many of our SOs join this forum? Does that mean we're all scammy because our husbands/wives/fiance(e)s didn't join? I never invited my husband here...it's not his bag. Maybe online forums aren't Z's fiancee's thing?

Yup!

The fact that he was totally, utterly unwilling to introduce his wife (fiancee?) to us just confirmed it in my mind.

True, true.... but it added to the shady-ness in my mind in this particular case. Just a feeling, I guess. Circumstantial at best... *shrug*

This needs a Venn diagram. There are beneficiaries that are douchy, but not necessarily scammy. And some that are scammy that come across really nice initially. And then some that are douchy scammers that either can't or won't go through the motions of being halfway normal and decent individuals.

So first option, or third, I'm still not sure.

When you have a bunch of red flags (esp decades in age diff & not spending a lot of time together) and you as the non American don't want to have your SO come to VJ to discuss the necessities then I say damn right your a scammer. If the USC is the one to join then the SO doesn't really need to join because she (MENA/Africa SO) is the one you guys are really looking out for. And if this lady ignores the signs or the advice then you guys have done all there is to do and that is that.

I have to admit, a Zagray apology video would be pretty amazing.

Haha. And it would be sponsored by Victoria Secrets push up bras and Always with Odour Lock.

That's what I was thinking when I posted it, but it's true that it's not always the case or fair to generalize. In Z's case, it was the combination of his talking about inappropriate things and flirty language that made me feel like he was hiding things from her. Again-- a feeling, a thought, an intuition-- nothing more! But where my mind went nonetheless. Who knows: maybe she's totally aware and cool with it. Different strokes, different folks, etc.

But I'm certainly not always on the American's "side" or out to look out for Americans exclusively. I occasionally get the "look at my prize hot foreign man" vibe in this forum (though not often). There are a lot of mail-order-type posts in other regions that make me incredibly uncomfortable.

Whatever, my hot immigrant (whatever his name is) is the best. I totally picked him out of an extra-big catalog, and when I am feeling blue I have him dance for me like Rooster Boy. Then I explode. :)

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

 The truth is too funny.

And now, I think I'm gonna start calling my husband my big "prize hot foreign man" I love it!
