How relevant is the applicant's employment in the CR1 process? I am the applicant and have not worked for the last two years. My wife is the petitioner and she works only three to five months of the year. We are having my sister be the joint sponsor and she works full time in the US.

Will me being unemployed for the last two years affect our application negetively? Any views/experiences are welcome.

In legal point of view, there shouldn't be any issue as her sister is co-sponsor.

That is their most common question to ask: What do you do?

I dont know how they may react you as you are a male unemployed applicant. I have no personal experience with such situation. But what I have experience with my case, I was asked about my employment history, and American CO looked for the same in DS-230.
