Thank you for your replies, but I am looking for experience specific to my location.

Anyone in Canada, interviewing in Montreal, have any comments on how long it took consulate to schedule interview?

Thanks :)

Your welcome....but your consulate does not schedule your interview....NVC does....and we all use the same NVC.

Moved from IR-1/CR-1 Process & Procedures to Canada regional forum; OP is asking for Canada specific answers.

One note, the Consulate in Montreal does not schedule immigrant visa interviews, they are scheduled by the NVC based on the dates the Consulate tells them they have available for such interviews.

I'm in Canada, hoping to get an interview in Montreal soon as well. It's been about 2 weeks of trying so far... I'm going to be checking online pretty much every chance I get (I work on the computer) and I heard that will increase your chances as availabilities get snapped up fast.

Good luck! Post if you have success.

You stated that you keep trying to schedule your interview at your consulate

But the problem is an IR-1/CR-1 applicant does not schedule their interview.

NVC schedules your interview for you.

Ah I see in my signature I used the wrong terms. I've updated it. Yes I know that the scheduling service at the CSC website is responsible for booking the interviews based on the availability that the consulate gives them. Thanks for the clarification of terms.

@amberlynnloves thanks for the update, the IR-1/CR-1 class doesn't have any availabilities currently though. Good luck with your process I hope you have success booking your interview straight off.

I'm kind of confused by your process, Andy. IR-1/CR-1 applicants do not book their interviews through the website; rather, they are assigned to you by the Department of State. The website is used by everyone to get a delivery code for DHL/Loomis/whatever it is now, and by K-1 applicants to pick an interview date, but your Pk 4 should have had an interview date and time on it.

For the OP, our case was complete January 25, 2012, which was two days after submitting our DS-260. We were assigned an interview Jan. 31 for March 13. You can use the timeline search to get more recent information.
