from what I understand US High School is better but UK Degree is better than US.

I really wouldn't work just on the basis of the experiences of one person from each country. You can't get less statistically significant than that.

Looking at degrees, while Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial and maybe UCL are world-reknown, the Times World University Rankings are dominated by US establishments, with almost all of them either in the northeast US or California.

well allot depends on how smart the kid is. if hes not going to a top 100 school it's irrelivent.

I think in general Education will be whatever you make of it no matter where you are.

David spent his life through the UK system, got an undergrad degree there and then moved here to the USA and got a graduate degree in teaching (Masters in Education) and now teaches at a local public high school. I'll have him come by and put his thoughts down when he gets back from working today. My guess, as others have said, is that it's wildly dependent on the area you live in.

I had to have my college and university grades translated over here in the US. My UK college education (16-18 years) was translated as an associates degree over here in the US. The University degree got translated straight over no difference.
