My fiance reads very little English. How do they send the DS-230?

Is it translated to the native language in the country of the beneficiary?

How about the Check List? Is that also sent in the native language?

Is anything sent in the native language in Package 3?

Yes, the embassy will send out most of the forms in packet 3 and 4 in both English and the native language.

In my case when preparing for packet 3 that will be sent to my fiance, I located the forms that our consulate will send to her, and they were written in Chinese, though I could not find DS-230 in other languages.

So in your case they should send out most of the forms in Greek.

Dose your SO have a friend or relative that can read English? If so maybee they could have some help with the English forms.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Bunnyqr,

I doubt the forms are translated. These forms are forwarded back to the US as part of the immigration package, for US Government use. Not much use if they are in another language.

My suggestion:

Fill out the necessary documents for your Fiance and have him sign them.

I did that for my Fiance, just to save her some hassle (although she reads english quite well). I forwarded her the entire package of forms with tabs indicating the signature required areas.

Streamline the process. You will appreciate the reduced headaches later.

My fiance reads very little English. How do they send the DS-230?

Is it translated to the native language in the country of the beneficiary?

Is anything sent in the native language in Package 3?

William,

Perhaps a consulate-specific item. The consular section in Bangkok provides the forms in both the English and Thai languages and accepts either one as long as the answers are written in English.

I suspect that with a little experience a USCIS officer will know what each question is by the number, they see the forms enough that they'll quickly memorize what the questions are and won't have to read them.
