I have been reading but I beleive I have been reading in the wrong spots because I know I have seen the answer to my question. However, Can someone tell me if you can have a sponsor on a k1 visa If the USC is not working?

Thanks for the answers!

You can get a co-sponsor that meets the 125% requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e). The USC petitioner and the co-sponsor will each fill out their own I-134 and provide supporting documents. The co-sponsor also needs to provide proof of being a USC or LPR.

Most consulates allow co sponsors but there are the rare case where they decide there is too great a risk anyways ( they aren't into chasing sponsors down for support ) A case I can think of is where the USC has been a life long welfare/aid recipient and was petitioning someone with no skills. They apparently thought that the immigrant wasn't going to even try to stay off aid and denied them. So hopefullly you are not in the small percentage they deny

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

no I am not a welfare recipients and your answer was somewhat offensive but I guess that was just your way of helping I really appreciate it thank you anyway.... to everyone else thank you so much for your answers I want to go to kenya to spend some time with my fiance and of course that means leaving my job however I do have a co-sponsor who would like to the help us so that's the reason for the question. I respect those who can stand to spend long periods without their love but unfortunately I'm not that strong... thank you all for your help.

One thing I want to caution you on is the risk that the sponsor assumes.

Please read the AOS and most importantly have the sponsor read it very carefully.

I hope that you'll reconsider leaving your job at this time as it'll be useful during the impeding petition. Not judging but just trying to make sure you've looked at all the angles.

Every single one of us on this family based immigration journey hates being apart form our loved ones.

Good luck.
