It all depends on your Finances, if you want a straight Flight from Manila to SFO then PAL is the way to go no stops or layovers. if you want a less expensive Flight look into Taipei Taiwan. you stop over in in Taipei for a short period. My Fiancee just flew here on China Air and she couldnt give them enough Praise from Manila to Taipei to LAX. Although i have heard bad reviews of China Air my Fiancee couldnt praise the service and Attention she got from China Air!

i flew with China Airlines before and i didn't quite like it. Because their food doesn't taste good. but the stewardess are courteous though.

just updating.. so now i got my visa and looking for a good flight online. we're leaning towards MNL-HNL-SFO. My question is, is 1:50 enough for me to make it through the immigration going to my next flight? and also, should i get my checked in baggage when i land in HNL and check it again for the next flight? i need your opinions please. :)

This travel agent offers the discount. http://www.santraphael.com/home.php I have not used them but will be talking to them this week. BEWARE if you book PAL thru the PAL or other website using a CC, PAL requires to see that card at the checkin counter or a photo copy of the CC used to book if the person flying has a different name than it shows on CC.

A bunch of airlines do this, try from a different pc, clear cookies or renew IP address and it will be fixed.

1:50 is not a lot of time to do everything that you need to do. At Honolulu you have to ride a wiki wiki bus to the terminal where you go through customs. They'll take you directly from your plane to that terminal (at least that's how it was for me at my last trip through there a few days ago) on a bus. Then you have to get your bag and then go through customs where you'll get your POE processing. Then you have to take that bag and check it in for your next flight but usually there will be someone there to help you do that and you do it right where you go through customs (afterward). So yes you do have to get your bag then give it up again I think.

Personally I'd be cautious about a 1:50 layover if you have to do POE processing + the bus ride at Honolulu + customs + check-in/board your new flight. You'll _probably_ be ok but if you miss the flight it's going to be a hassle to get another flight and you'll be delayed. You can do it but it's a little risky.

Cheers

I think base your decision on price. Get the cheapest route then if you don't make your connection (and you'll probably be fine to make it in most cases) you might have to sleep in the airport or read a book for 5 hours but the airline will get you there eventually and you can use the money you save to spend a couple nights in Vegas when you get here - romantic getaway money. haha. :)

Just curious, do you go through Immigration at the connecting airport or the final destination?

I know for sure, you'll get your checked-in baggage in SFO. Also there's a direct flight from MNL-SFO if you take PAL for $873.00, she'll arrive by 8PM and should be out by 10PM.

The First US City you land in is your POE{Point of Entry). It is that Airport you will go through US Immigration and on to your next Flight or Final Destination.

We flew MNL-HNL-PHX on Hawaiian airlines. 1:50 should be okay if you hustle off the airplane to immigrations (left side right after entering the room) POE. After clearing customs with your bags there is a baggage re-check to the left not sure if that is just for Hawaiian airlines or not, the other airlines are the next floor up, elevators are through the double doors and to the right after clearing customs. We cleared everything in less than an hour and had time to burn ... waiting.
