I'm confused, you can stay for 6 months without a visa in the Philippines.

No,you have to pay for that. The only free stay you get is the 21 days and a free extension for up to 59 days. After that you have to pay a fee

Extending the 21 days up to 59 days is NOT free. The Fee is PhP 3,030.

The Tourist Visa Extension Fee after 59 days is PhP 4,800.

Just get the visa extension at the bureau of immigration and you can stay 59 days. I have a friend in the PI and he didnt know about needing to pay to stay longer. He was there for one year before applying for the visa to stay longer...he had quite a few fees to pay before they would approve his visa to stay longer.

the only way to not to have to pay for a visa is to arrive with your filipina spouse...they will stamp you for a year providing your filipina spouse has been outside the PI for at least a year.

Because to get the answer you want, you need to ask the officer who will stamp your passport upon arrival.

And, they accept gratuities, if the line is not too long, and nobody is looking. They also overlook your overstay, if you pay the same gratuity, usually about the same rate, or more, than if you just paid the for the extension by itself. Non-issue, and nobody cares.

???

it's a simple question.... that im very surprised no one knows the answer to???

Because there is no answer. I take it you have never traveled to a third world country. Don't play games. Do not cut it so close that you have to rely on a foreign official that is worried about losing his job if he makes a mistake. If they tell you to pay, pay, don't argue, and move on. At best, you are talking about pocket change.

If the answer is so simple, as you state it is, then why do you not know the answer?

If your going to be there more than 21 days...apply for your visa before you go.

If less than 21 days....don't worry about it.

simple...!!!

It's 30 bucks for a visa if you apply before you leave

I think 50 bucks if you obtain at POE.

It is a very simple 1 page application

took me about 10 days to get the visa stamp in my passport

Cost 30USD

and if you use a travel agency, most will take care of this for you.

I did it myself because it is such an easy process, and faster if I do it.

Nope! You couldn't be more wrong in your life. Have been there a dozen times already, just didn't know what the policy was regarding their stamping the passport.... And P3000 is NOT pocket change.....
