Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone has a similar scenario:

I was born in the 80s, lost my original birth certificate and was issued a new one in the 90s. I'm assuming that the Birth Certificate Number I was re-issued is totally different and I do not want any discrepencies.

Am I ok with my re-issued birth certificate? Should I make mention of it on a separate sheet of paper?

if its going to be a problem, why not use your passport. Photo copy all pages and submit it as evidence of US citizenship if thats what your talking about :thumbs:

Should be the same. Does the birth certificate have a raised or embossed seal? Is it consider an original replacement??

I had to get new ones myself. I went ahead and got 2 of them. They both had an embossed seal on it and they worked fine.

It was my understanding that you need the LONG version of your birth certificate anyway. I just ordered one for me and my kids. The versions we had previously were just the small, wallet sized ones.

USCIS - 40 DAYS

Both of my Birth Certificates that I have now (long and short) have different numbers on them but they've all had the same registration number and date.

You should be fine. People lose things all the time.
