Invoice ID Number

We got our NOA2 a couple weeks ago, haven't received packet 3 yet, but I called DOS and our case has been logged. So, time to get the ball rolling. On Montreal's website, to view the necessary forms for P3, it asks for your MTL case number and an Invoice ID number. I assumed it was the WAC # we received with our NOA1, but nope.

Help please, where can I find the invoice ID number??

I don't know about an invoice number but when your case is sent to the embassy (or consulate) they will assign you a number specific to your visa application (the MTL number in your case). I am from Australia and my case number started with SYD (for the Sydney consulate). So I guess you will have to wait until it reaches the embassy to get your MTL number. Not being from Canada I am unsure if they have a different list of requirements, and forms, then in Australia so I can't tell you exactly what you need. Sorry but that is all the advice I have, hopefully a Canadian, or someone else, can give you more.

Thanks for the replies. I've read the Montreal guide. It's helpful, but doesn't answer my question.

On the "forms" page on Montreal's website (http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/fianc-k-1-visas/forms.html), both form DS-156 and DS-260 request log in information that I don't have.

sorry... I should have read your post better.... what you need is the NVC invoice number... and the MTL case number.... which you can either wait for NVC to send you the letter with this information on it.... or call the NVC and see if they will give it to you over the phone. The phone number for the NVC is in the guides you read above. (step 2 of the instructions)

Good luck! smile.gif

Ha you got me all confused, now I see what is going on. I was wondering why I didn't encounter this. You don't need a DS-260. This is the link I was given in the email for packet 3 (same as the first link on the page you posted).

Rob and/or Monika, thank you!! I was getting DS 230 and 260 mixed up... those links are exactly what we needed. Thanks again! :)

I linked the DS-156K wrong if you didn't figure that out. http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf
