Thanks Nick.

So just a notarised letter off Andy, not myself? Right I think I am starting to understand everything a bit better. Last time I required one of these certificates from Bahrain, they quoted me 5 weeks. It took 5 months as I had mailed them the a wrong residency card copy, but they never informed me until I starting calling the Bahrain embassy 20 times a day. It took a friend of mine 5 weeks though, however when I enquired at the Bahrain embassy in Washington, they said they were taking 3-4 months. I just hope London works faster.

I lived in Bahrain for a little over a year. Yeah maybe they will AP me. I just hope they look at my situation now and the rigging I had to go through for my airside pass at London Heathrow and realise I am not a terrorist after all. Lol.

Like I said before, I used to live right by the police station in Bahrain that issued these certificates so if the embassy start playing havoc like they did last time, I will not hesitate to jump on a plane to the Middle East and have this thing sorted once and for all!

Thanks so much for your info, it means alot!

There is no form. A letter with all your details and case number of course. Do it before the expiration date--maybe 3 weeks??. The NOA2 will have that date printed on it, as will your letter from London. It's four months after approval. I would probably also include a letter from the USC fiancé saying he is still on board when you write the request just so they know. I know others who have stalled and didn't keep them informed but just trickled things in. Supposedly as long as they get things from you like the application, then medical results, your petition will be extended automatically. However informing them formally is a good measure to take so they know you are dealing with a hard to get foreign police report.

The official word from the embassy contained in the letter is:

The K1/3 petition is valid for four months from the date of action (priority date at the bottom of the letter) and must be valid to process your case to conclusion. To revalidate the petition, please request your fiancé(e) to make a notarized statement of intent to marry within ninety days of your arrival in the U.S. and present it on the day of your interview

.

To read the whole letter, see the K1 thread pinned at the top of tis forum. Dan posted a copy.

How long did you live in Bahrain? That can make it much more likely you will get AP for additional security checks after the interview. You may not get the visa approved for weeks or many months. Just a heads up so you don't make plans until the visa is in hand, even if they say "approved" at the interview.

Letter from you and include a statement from him. dated, signed by each of you. Something like this covers it all to be safe.

To whom it may concern:

I am in the process of applying for a K1 visa but I am still waiting for a police certificate from Bahrain. The I129F petition filed on my behalf expires on xxx, so I would like to request an extension of the I-129F petition approval. I remain free to marry and intend to marry within 90 days of entry into the United States on a K1 visa. I am including a statement from my fiancé attesting to the same.

Get him to send you two so you have another original to take to the interview if you haven't heard from Bahrain before mid November.. He can send the I-134 and income proofs at the same time.

Maybe you'll get it quickly and can skip all this letter writing.
