How long did it take to get IRS transcripts?

I filled out the form to get transcripts for the last 3 years, mailed it 1st week in january. How long does it take to receive these?

From what I understand, it can take a looooooooooooong time to get them if you mail the request, but if you call them up and are willing to spend 30 minutes on hold, someone can get them out to you within a day or 2.

I called and got my transcripts within a week of the call.

There is an automated system you can use if you don't want to hold for a person which is what I used. You just give your information as it asks for it. I got my transcripts in a week to 10 days.

I requested mine by mail & it took nearly 6 weeks for them to arrive! I had just about given up. If I had it to do over again, I would've paid for the transatlantic phone call & requested them by phone.

You can get the transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040... go onto their automated system and you can order the transcripts as long as you still live at the same address that you last filed. I just ordered mine and got them in about 2 weeks.
