I am lost and angry

Different process. Spouses (CR-1 in our case) ARE now recommended to attend Interview. I am a very married Spouse and so is my Russian Wife..to each other! :-) But I do agree with time and flows recommended. 4 weeks for Police record and agree again, there is a lot of paperwork to get done. I'd also remind that vaccination records are a need. If your Fiance does not have her records history of this she is looking at the need to have a series of vaccinations. The Hepatitis B administered MUST be over a timeframe. My Wife has her last vaccination next month. They will ask for this record at the Medical Exam.

If you check the OP you will see that his application is for a K-1 visa. :bonk:

They now expect the Spouse to be at the Interview

Oh.

I was really starting to feel for those cheapskates like myself who enjoyed NOT having to go to Moscow. I'd hate to think folks now had to make an unnecessary trip just because the US Government said so.

Hello, just wanted to give some fresh input, as I just returned from Russia and had a successful interview :) As soon as the NVC gives you a case number you can schedule the interview on ustraveldocs website. You will have to pay first which can take 24 hrs to register on the site. Moscow is super empty right now for visas, as almost EVERY day was open to choose from. You can schedule and reschedule very easily. I would wait to do it though until after the embassy has your packet. The medical can all be done at one time, and my fiancee did this alone, but she said if she didn't meet someone else who was doing it she would have gotten lost, as you go somewhere else after the beginning. Later that day we picked up the medical records. The petitioner being at the interview is recommeneded for K-1, and I think it was pleasant for the consular officer to speak with me, but certainly wasn't required, as every other fiancee visa that was there was approved. I'm not sure about Pony express yet because I left before she had passport in hand, but I will update with that news when I have it. Currently waiting in Minneapolis to finally get home to North Dakota...

I feel lost and angry at the conflicting and confusing information I have read.

We have finally received an email from the Embassy in Moscow to schedule interview. I do not know if we can schedule medical exam one day and interview the next day.

My supporting documentation I sent to my fiancee will arrive on Aug 22nd.

my fiancee was told she would get police report in 2-4 weeks.

Since I don't trust FedEx or Russian Police I am not confident in scheduling interview now. Can I just risk it and schedule it for in 4 weeks and will I be able to reschedule it to a later date?

Once I have Interview scheduled can we try to schedule medical exam for day before or should just do it now.

It does not look easy to schedule back to back appointments. Should I just send her to Moscow twice or is there a way to schedule the two appointments? This kind of ticks me off at the additional travel expenses. Needless to say, but this is really confusing my fiancee and she thinks I keep changing my mind about what to do.

In Ukraine you can do it back to back. The results are available the same day of the exam. Not sure about Russia. This is country specific answer and listen to people wuith experience in Russia. FWIW Alla did her exam a month in advance as she was in Kiev for business anyway. Our sons did them the day before and had no problems.

Stop talking to your fiancee about it. Get the corerect answer here from someone with Russian experience, then make and appointment and tell her what to do. There is nothing to aggravate a RUB woman like a man that cannot decide. Its your job, find out and get her there, she will do what you say. Do not say anything to her until you know what to do.

Currently waiting in Minneapolis to finally get home to North Dakota...

I had the "luxury" of living in Minot for two winters. Can't say I miss that place much.

Although... if I would've had a RUB spouse with me, it probably wouldn't have been all that bad!

+27 internetz.

You fellers need to understand something about these RUB ladies. The don't own pants. They wear skirts because you wear the pants. It's your job. Don't be scared to put your foot down. At the end of the day, you'll be rewarded for it.

They do say there that the cold keeps the 'riff-raff' out!

We had our interview a few months ago in January.

Police report took 2 months (much longer than expected, but Yuliana is from a smaller town)

Medical was taken the day before the interview, results were same day and also translated into english.

Thanks everyone for your replies. My fiancee finally got the interview scheduled, but that was a hassle as there were no open dates available on the website and she had to call the embassy then lo and behold on Monday two dates became available. She scheduled the medical exam for the day before the interview at the medical office that will have the results ready in the afternoon. We're still waiting for the police report which was request over a month ago.

I read somewhere that if she doesn't have all the documents at the interview that the case will be pending until she has the, but that she can send to the embassy and not have to return. Any truth to that????

We are nearing the end of the application time window and I would like to know if there is a way to extend it in case it takes longer to get the police report.

thanks.

Don't forget to ask for the DS-3025 form during the medical. It may cost a little but will ease AOS.

Some financial consideration quickens that process; we know.

Yes

There is nothing to worry about. The Embassy has your case and there is not need for any extension. Don't worry about it. The NOA2 expiration is meaningless now.

thanks.
