I have my oath ceremony for my US citizenship this upcoming Thursday and had a couple questions in regards to it. I plan on mailing my I-130 on the Friday after, once I photocopy my certificate of naturalization so I can mail them a copy. I am a Canadian citizen and I flew to Jordan to get married using my Canadian passport. My question is how should I send a copy of my Canadian passport as proof that I traveled to Jordan to get married. Should I also photocopy every page of the Canadian passport or just the biographic page and pages of the visas. Should I write a letter explaining why I am sending a copy of my Canadian passport? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Your marriage certificate should show place and date you got married. if you want to prove you actually traveled to Jordan you send the bio page and the page wher you received the stamps. Not sure if you need all that evidence i have never actually filed for a spouse.good luck.

Your passport is not going to serve as evidence for marriage.

I-130 instructions clearly asks for photocopy of the marriage certificate (in English). So you need to translate it while in Jordan into english (official translation through the governement, and as an addition, you can go to the US embassy after that to authenticate it as valid to the best of their knewledge)

I dont know about where the translation in Jordan is, but for example in Egypt, got married, the marriage certificate translated by ministry of foreign affairs translation department (no other place would be accepted) that took about 3 days, then authenticated by the american embassy in Cairo (immediately). I made sure to do that for both mine and her certificate just in case.

Good luck and congratulation:)
